Clean Switch Solar

"Edited 11/03/26 Found out today that Clean Switch are not certified by MCS to install solar panels or batteries. All their talk is bull. No wonder they've ignored all our pleas for the certificates so we can claim payments for excess energy. Still ignoring our cries for help to fix our problems they're fully aware about. No choice now but to go down the legal route. Atrocious workmanship from start to finish. Leaks in roof when left exposed, missing equipment supposedly ordered, faulty and unsafe electrical wiring, damage to roof waterproofing amongst an endless list of other issues. Panels are now sliding off the roof above where we walk and these guys are not replying to our desperate messages. A 2 day job turned into around 6 weeks. Do not believe the promises they make. Avoid at all costs!"

"Clean Switch installed our system a couple of years ago. They were polite and helpful at the installation phase, although clearly inexperienced/a new company (it became clear they hadn't installed a system like ours before), but we were prepared to give them a chance. We got through the installation hiccups and eventually it was up and running, thanks mostly to an extremely excellent electrician (Chloe - she's now left the company). If I'd left a review then it would likely have been positive. However, in the last two years we've had a persistent problem which means the system fails when it rains (so has to be reset manually every morning after rain). There was a lot of talk from Clean Switch about ongoing maintenance and support at the time of installation. It has taken 18 months of emails and phone calls and being ignored by them, for Fergus to come and look at the problem and apparently fix it. A week after he left the problem started again and it has now been another 6 months of irritation with and lack of response from Clean Switch for ignoring emails and not answering phone calls. If you're looking to have solar installed I would read carefully through all the reviews here and note that the positive ones relate only to installation, and draw your own conclusions."

"Clean Switch Solar were the installers for work I received through a grant, and they were fantastic. Steve, Sean, Chris and Piers completed the work, and they were all helpful, communicative, considerate and conscientious. If I had a question, they stopped and listened, then helped me to understand so I could make an informed decision. I've seen another review note that they went above and beyond, and that was my experience too. Piers was very supportive, and even gave me and a neighbour a demo for our new heaters, although my neighbour had a different installer. They were all friendly and I felt perfectly safe with them around, which isn't always the case with contractors. I can’t comment on any costings or organisation pre-installation, but delivery and customer care on site was absolutely top-notch!"

"We had a couple of PylonTech batteries added to our existing solar PV system. We had very personal professional service. The installers discussed our wishes about routing the cabling through to our circuit board, and came up with a good solution. Unfortunately they were not able to complete the job in 1 day, but they went the extra mile in helping to set up the monitoring app on my mobile. It is very satisfying to see the electricity we are producing is now being stored for our own use. Looking forward to lower electricity bills soon!"
