"I am very pleased indeed with the high standard of work done by B&L to extend and improve my 1930s semi. I approached Mark via an indirect recommendation, after I had already discussed the project with several other builders. The professionalism shown from the start of the quotation process meant that Mark stood out, and I have never doubted that I made the right choice. The quote provided was detailed and included estimates for options I had requested in addition to the main structural work so I was fully aware of my costs from the start. Mark met with me regularly to discuss details of the project so I was always informed of what would be happening and when. He provided me with further written quotes on my options as work proceeded so I could make informed decisions on each. The final project was close on budget and original estimates, although it took slightly longer to complete than originally planned, mainly due to the weather delaying some of the final work. Mark co-ordinated everything with his own team and his regular sub-contractors such that I was able to live in the house throughout the 6 months of the project. He liaised with my neighbours regarding access and worked around my commitments so that critical plumbing work was timed to coincide with a couple of short holiday breaks. Everyone in Mark’s team was always very considerate and pleasant to have around, working tidily, keeping noise to a minimum and discussing details with me as necessary throughout the project. A great collective effort with a very pleasing outcome as far as I am concerned! Mark and all his team at B&L were great to work with and I would highly recommend them."

"UPDATE TO EARLIER REVIEW: Following the very poor weather in East Devon in early 2026, we became aware of a leak in our roof (built by B &L over three years earlier). On contacting them they sent a member of staff to evaluate the problem and it was repaired within two weeks of me alerting them, no charge. Great service."

Several steel rebars later we had a beautifully fitted kitchen cum family room made from a garage and two other rooms,6m2! Additionally they built us a new garage, which looks good enough to move into! They made helpful suggestions to get around problems listened well to what we wanted, and had a lovely crew.
